PFAS Reporting Deadline Delayed by EPA

EPA recently delayed its reporting deadlines for PFAS manufacturing and importation under the Toxic Substances Control Act. EPA’s new deadline requires one-time reporting on the uses, production volumes and disposal of PFAS and PFAS-containing articles by January 22, 2026. Small businesses meeting EPA’s criteria have until July 11, 2026, to report. Learn more at ASA’s PFAS Guidelines for ASA Members below.

ASA Leads Letter Opposing ESA Listing of Gulf of Alaska Chinook Salmon

In response to a petition to list Gulf of Alaska Chinook Salmon as Endangered, ASA spearheaded a letter to the Alaska Region National Marine Fisheries Service from industry and conservation partners opposing the petition. While returns of Chinook in the Gulf of Alaska are lower than targets set by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the unwarranted listing does not consider environmental conditions, existing management plans, and investments in restoration. ASA President Joins Outdoor Industry Leaders for Briefing on U.S. Trade Policy

On September 17, ASA President, Glenn Hughes, will join the Outdoor Recreation Roundtable (ORR) for a briefing on U.S. trade policy and its impact on the $1.1 trillion outdoor recreation economy. The briefing will address the increasing uncertainties surrounding the U.S. trade landscape and the significant burdens these pose on the outdoor recreation industry—a sector vital to the American economy and quality of life.
