Sportfishing Industry Discusses Fish Passage with Federal Agencies

On August 20th, members of the recreational fishing community joined federal agencies tasked with overseeing fisheries management for the summer gathering of Fisheries Community and Federal Agency Network.

Led by ASA, the group is aimed at getting recreational fishing and boating groups and federal agencies in the same room to discuss opportunities for improving access, habitat and promotion of our nation’s great fisheries.

The topic of this month’s meeting was fish passage successes and future opportunities through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act.

PFAS Reporting Webinar Recording Posted to ASA’s YouTube Channel

In late 2023, the EPA finalized a PFAS Reporting Rule under the Toxic Substances Control Act. Under that rule, companies must report PFAS manufactured or imported into the U.S. between 2011 and 2022. With reporting due in less than a year, many groups in our industry have questions about this important topic. To help, ASA hosted a webinar on August 22, 2024, to provide our members with an overview of this important issue. In this recording, James Pollack, regulatory lawyer at Marten Law, shares his extensive knowledge of PFAS regulatory compliance at the federal and state levels.
