Sportfishing Industry Applauds Passage of SHARKED Act

On February 5th, the House of Representatives unanimously passed the Supporting the Health of Aquatic Systems through Research, Knowledge, and Enhanced Dialogue (SHARKED) Act (H.R. 4051). The SHARKED Act directs NOAA to create a task force to study shark depredation.

America’s Conservation Enhancement Reauthorization Act Includes Big Wins for Sportfishing

Last week, Senate Environment and Public Works Committee leaders introduced the America’s Conservation Enhancement (ACE) Reauthorization Act. This sweeping legislation includes many priorities for the sportfishing industry, including fish habitat restoration and efforts to reduce pollution in the Chesapeake Bay.

Great Lakes Lawmakers Introduce Legislation to Extend Great Lakes Protections

Members of the Great Lakes Task Force introduced the bipartisan Great Lakes Restoration Initiative Act of 2024, which extends this critical program for another five years through 2031 and increases annual funding levels from $475 million in 2026 to $500 million from 2027 through 2031.
