TULSA, OK.— Zebco CEO Jeff Pontius has announced the promotion of Steve Smits to the new position President, Zebco Brands-North America effective April 3, 2017. Smits will continue to report to Pontius in his new role and will be responsible for leading Zebco Brands business operations in the U.S. and Canada.
Pontius commented, “The strong leadership and collaborative style Steve has demonstrated during his tenure with Zebco Brands has been key to his success and the achievement of sales and marketing objectives”. Steve joined Zebco in August of 2013 in the position of Senior Vice President-Sales & Marketing. During his tenure, he has accepted increased leadership in not only sales and marketing but also product engineering and quality. His new role will bring additional responsibility in operations and sourcing.
Steve’s background includes Senior Vice President North American Sales at Pure Fishing, and major consumer products companies Keurig Green Mountain, Scotts, and Procter and Gamble.
