HI-SEAS Pro Casey Ashley Wins Bassmaster Classic

COATESVILLE, Penn.— HI-SEAS Pro Team member, Casey Ashley won the 45th annual Basssmaster Classic Tournament in Greenville, South Carolina using HI-SEAS 100% Fluorocarbon line. Ashley was a favorite among the bass fans to win the Classic, as he’s a native to South Carolina and considers Lake Hartwell his hometown lake. At age 31, Ashley is very familiar with Lake Hartwell, as he also won an FLW event in 2014 on the very same lake. Winning the $300,000 Bassmaster Classic prize is more rewarding because of the significance his hometown lake means to Ashley.

The extremely frigid cold temperatures during the three day event played a toll on many of the 55 qualified competing anglers. However, Ashley didn’t let the temperature affect his performance, he won a total weight of 50 pounds 1 ounce fishing HI-SEAS 100% Fluorocarbon line on a homemade fish-head spinner rigged with a Zoom Super Fluke Jr. in pearl white, made just for him by his father. “I caught every fish I weighed in the Classic on 10lb 100% Fluorocarbon line. I was actually a little worried when the guides on my rod were freezing every 45 seconds or so that the ice would fray my line, but it did not. HI-SEAS line still impresses me with its strength. Now for sure, there is no doubt in my mind HI-SEAS line can withstand any condition it’s faced with.”

Ashley is the second HI-SEAS Pro to hold the title of Bassmaster Classic Champion, with Cliff Pace also taking home the trophy in 2013 using HI-SEAS 100% Fluorocarbon line. These two champions truly exemplify the brand’s slogan, “When the money’s on the line.”
