Pompano Beach, FL – There are some tackle companies anglers simply associate with heavy cover and grass fishing – Gambler Lures is one of them. And now after a litter over a year of development the ICAST audience will finally see the release of the much rumored Gambler Popping Frog.
“It’s been a long time coming. We started working on this project late last year and just wanted to make it perfect – the popping frog has become such a staple lure here on Lake Okeechobee,” said owner Val Osinski.
The new Popping Frog boasts some premium features as well as some very nuanced tweaks developed in concert with local tournament anglers in Florida. The frog comes pre-weighted and already includes a rattle. Along with standard colors like white and black, Gambler worked with anglers to identify more customized finishes specifically to address various water clarities. Probably the most time consuming aspect was the weighting and balancing of the frog.
Osinski noted, “We worked with Kail Stevens who is a local stick that dominates Lake Okeechobee on topwater, he helped us to get the distribution setup to achieve that perfect pop and sit a little deeper in thicker grass.”
The prototype has already drawn some eyes and some tournament credibility in the past few months on Lake Okeechobee with multiple bags over 30 pound including a 36 pound bag caught by Scenko STIX owner Alex Tereschenko!
