LONDON — Europe’s premier tackle trade show, EFTTEX, has officially been postponed, according to EFTTA & EFTTEX CEO Olivier Portrat. Portrat released a statement via the organization’s website earlier today, a transcript of which follows:

Due to the global covid-19 crisis the EFTTA board of directors have taken the decision to postpone EFTTEX 2020. Europe’s premier trade show was scheduled to take place in Prague, Czech Republic from the 11th – 13th June 2020.

Olivier Portrat, EFTTA CEO said the exhibition will take place in Prague in 2021. All stand bookings remain valid and payments can be deferred to next year. New show dates have yet to be confirmed along with other important information. We ask you to bear with us while we get these details to you.

As your trade association, our priority is ensuring we run a safe exhibition and postponing to 2021 is the only option. We regret all the inconvenience and difficulties this global situation has created for you and your businesses.

Stay safe and we will be in touch soon with new dates and further details. We look forward to seeing you in 2021.

Olivier Portrat

The postponement of EFTTEX follows the cancellation of the physical version of its American counterpart, ICAST. American Sportfishing Association President Glenn Hughes announced that ICAST—originally scheduled for July 14-17— will continue as a virtual show on April 17.
