New Tatula 150 Turns Heads at Classic Expo

GREENVILLE, S.C.— Since their release in 2013, Daiwa’s precision-crafted line of Tatula reels has been making waves in the bass fishing world. With Tatula at the vanguard, Daiwa has rapidly reclaimed its luster of old, with an all-world pro staff featuring this weekend’s Bassmaster Classic contenders Randy Howell, Andy Montgomery, Seth Feider, and Brent Ehrler.

As the eyes of the bass angling world converge on Lake Hartwell, and thousands of fans flock to the nearby TD Convention Center for the Bassmaster Classic Expo, Daiwa is giving fishing fans an up-close look at the newest member of the Tatula family—the all-new Tatula 150.

Set to take the bass fishing world by storm—and already braving the windy waters of Hartwell—the new Tatula 150 T-wing baitcasting series is designed for specific bass fishing tasks like deep cranking, punching or flipping, pulling chatter baits or swimbaits, and frogging. Paired with the new, stylized Tatula Elite rod, it forms an elegant bass fishing weapon that packs a punch.

With an aluminum side plate and frame and reinforced brass gearing and a sturdy pinion gear, these reels are designed for the more rigorous demands of power bass fishing. The T-wing level wind system allows line to pay out freely on casts and flips increasing distance and accuracy. The reel is Cadillac smooth utilizing an astounding 7 ball bearings and 1 roller bearing.

“It’s a workhorse,” says veteran pro angler and bonafide big bass hunter Cody Meyer. “It’s light. It’s got a really big, 100mm handle, which helps a lot if you’re a guy with big hands. When you’re bass fishing, you want that grip. You want that power. The Tatula 150 is perfect for flippin’ and deep crankin’, and it has a 5:5 to 7:3 gear ratios, so you can use it for almost any technique.”

Designed for a variety of presentations, the Tatula 150 comes in three gear ratios, 5.4 to 1 (right hand only), 6.3 to 1 and 7.3 to 1. Each reel sports a left or right side retrieve. A 100mm swept handle delivers hours of comfort. As if performance was not enough, the matte black finish and spider graphic make for one of the most attractive reels on the market. If you covet the tools of the successful power bass fisherman, than step up to the plate and make the Tatula 150 T-wing baitcasting reels an important part of your largemouth bass arsenal.
