Westin Signs Predator Angler to Marketing and Content Specialist Role

Daniel Nilsson will be responsible for representing Westin on the water, effectively making him Europe’s first full-time professional predator angler.

The Scandinavian fishing tackle brand Westin is on the forefront of the European predator tackle industry, continuously launching a steady stream of innovative, long lasting and fish catching products. This is the Danish based brands DNA, a DNA shared by Nilsson.

“After 9 years working for Westin as a sale representative, it is time for Westin to take the lead and adapt,” Daniel Nilsson declares. “My job has evolved in the past three years to a more marketing-oriented role. The decision to assign me as Marketing and Content Specialist for Westin is an honor and a huge step for the European industry in general. Never as an eager 15-year-old fishing enthusiast, applying to a sportfishing academy, did I think that this was a possibility for me, but dreams can come true.”

Across the Atlantic it is not unusual for a skilled angler to be able to make a living on the water, but up until now it is almost unheard of in Europe. Times are changing and at Westin they believe in full-time anglers and are proud of Nilsson as being the first of many professional European anglers to come.

Westin Marketing Manager, Andreas Aggerlund states, “It is no secret that brand ambassadors have taken a on greater role in the promoting our brands the last years. Influencers, competition and team anglers alike play a crucial role in our success, and at Westin we take great pride in our Team of anglers, which we regard as one of, if not the best in Europe. Ever since Daniel joined the Westin family and Team, he has been a valued colleague with innovative ideas, dedication, loyalty and a tremendously high skill level which all lead to this day.”

Daniel is well-known across Europe for his participation in the online fishing tournaments PikeFight, PerchFight and PredatorFight.

Thomas Petersen Eldor, Westin CEO clarifies that Daniels assignments to his new position at Westin has been a fluid transition. For the past 3-4 years Daniel has taken on many marketing related assignments on the side of his regular responsibilities as sales rep. Daniel has amongst others represented Westin in many competitions and YouTube productions whilst precenting new and old products in his steady flow of social media content. In the future all the above-mentioned tasks will be intensified, but there will also be a lot of open-door days in corporation with our large customers, PR events etc. in Daniels schedule, Thomas ends.

Daniel will start as Marketing and Content Specialist with immediate effect, stay tuned great things are coming.
