Earlier this year, Australia’s JM Gillies teamed with PRADCO Outdoor Brands for domestic distribution of the famous Tasmanian Devil lure.
“The Tasmanian Devils are proven and iconic fish-catchers,” PRADCO Fishing Vice President and General Manager Bruce Stanton said. “We are very fortunate to have U.S. distribution rights and appreciate our distributor partners who are stepping up to serve dealers and consumers.”
The unique winged lure is a favorite with Australian and New Zealand. Tassie Devils come in four sizes and can be trolled or cast for any freshwater species – but are especially effective on trout.
“If you are a dealer and have rainbow or brown trout in your coverage area, then you need to be supporting this product set,” Stanton said. “We have the U.S. Facebook and Instagram accounts active and are building a pro staff to support the brand.”
Tasmanian Devils are the brainchild of Eddie Wigston, who owned an outdoors store in New Norfolk on Tasmania’s Derwent River. He began producing the hollow, weighted lures with curved wings in 1979. It quickly became one of the most popular lures in Australia and New Zealand. It remains the most-popular trout lure to this day.
Tassie Devils are available to dealers through Pitman Creek, Big Rock Sports, Hendrix Outdoors and Kehrer Fish.
