Will We See You at the Big Show?

For the first time ever ICAST and IFTD will be co-located together under one roof and allow all attendees to browse both shows at once. The American Sportfishing Association (ASA) and the American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA) have joined forces to produce a show that should be one to remember for all who attend. If you have never attended an ICAST or IFTD show, this should be the year that you do.

You will be missing out on more than just an historic event within the fishing tackle trades, you will be missing out on key opportunities for both your customers and your business. If you are looking for a reason to attend, here are a few of the highlights you will be missing out on by staying home.

More Than Just Tackle
This year once again, ICAST attendees will have the opportunity to attend Business Conference Sessions that are complimentary for all badged ICAST and IFTD attendees and exhibitors. These seminars will cover a wide range of topics that can help you and your customers and employees both on and off the water.

Meet a Living Legend
Once again the ASA has scheduled a living legend to come and talk to all who attend the State of the Industry Breakfast. National Baseball Hall of Famer Johnny Bench will talk during this year’s breakfast, attendees will hear inside information on the state of our industry from both the American Sportfishing Association and the American Fly Fishing Trade Association.

First Look at the Best of Show
Every year the Chairman’s Industry Awards Reception is well attended by both manufacturers and retailers – this year should be no exception. This is a great opportunity for manufacturers to be recognized as having a “Best of Show” product in each of the different categories. It also gives retailers their first glimpse at what the hot new products will be.

New Product Showcase
ICAST is all about the new products that you will be carrying in your store in the coming months. The New Product Showcase is one of the greatest stops on the show’s floor. You have an opportunity to see all of the new products in each of the categories and help formulate a game plan on who you need to see. The New Product Showcase Preview Reception is only open to registered buyers and credentialed media members. If you have the opportunity to attend this event, you need to. Once again Fishing Tackle Retailer magazine will be sponsoring this exciting event.

ICAST-Only Specials
Once again, many exhibitors will be offering ICAST show specials to you, the buyer. These ICAST-Only Specials are a great way for buyers to save money by placing their orders at the show, no matter how big or small your order is. Last year nearly a third of all exhibitors offered show specials that buyers cashed in on. Will you cash in on them this year?

Another ICAST favorite is the Buyer Raffles. The Buyer Raffles are exclusive to attendees who make purchases while at ICAST. Every time you place an order with an exhibitor during the show you will be entered into the raffle. This year there will again be a jackpot prize along with a trip for two to Crocodile Bay Resort in Costa Rica.

See It Work
Lures are a big part of your sales, but how do you fish that new lure? ICAST once again will feature their Lure Pond, which will showcase how the new lures work on and under the water. To ensure everyone has an optimal view, ICAST has an underwater camera that will display an up-close view of the lure’s action.

Stay Connected
Even when you’re not working, you are still working. ICAST realizes this and wants to ensure you have the chance to stay connected to your store and the outside world. Once again they will have their Cyber Lounge on the show floor. The complimentary internet connection will offer you a chance to check your email and ensure everything is going well at home.

ICAST is created for the industry and attended by the industry – what better place could there be to network with fellow retailers? You never know whom you will bump into and trade information with. You may meet a new friend who you can discuss industry issues, share selling secrets, or just find a new fishing buddy. ICAST is full of opportunities to meet new people, but only if you attend.

Here are just nine reasons you need to attend ICAST 2013 this July. It still isn’t too late to register for an Attendee’s badge and book a flight or a hotel room. Las Vegas is hot in July, but this year’s show is bound to be even hotter. If you cannot commit to attend for the entire show, come for at least a day or two and get a leg up on your competition.

If you are already planning on attending, or have decided to now, be sure to stop by Fishing Tackle Retailer’s booth. We are located at booth number 319. Stop in, say hi and talk with a staff member about the magazine and the website. If you can’t attend, be sure to keep up to date on the happenings at ICAST through our Facebook page and Twitter feed. See you in Vegas!
