For serious bass anglers, the days of a one-rod-fits all approach to angling are long gone. Any serious competitor is likely to have an array of rods on their deck at any one time: crank bait rods, spinnerbait rods, flippin’ rods, punching rods, finesse rods, and rods for swimbaits. “Bass anglers are getting more and more sophisticated,” says Collins Illich, Bass Category Manager at Temple Fork Outfitters. “They need ways to fine-tune their rods.”
To answer the call, Temple Fork Outfitters (TFO), has released a full family of tactical bass rods with technique-specific actions and exceptional attention to detail.

TFO Tactical Bass Rods

The family starts with the 22-rod Tactical Bass family. Spanning both spinning and casting models, this family starts at a palatable $149.99 MSRP and comes with some class-leading features.

The foundation of the Tactical Bass series are technique specific fast action blanks constructed with intermediate modulus carbon fiber material.  The blanks are a natural satin clear coat finish topped with Pac Bay Minima Stainless Steel SV Minima guides.  The series includes 22 models: 18 casting in 6’9”-8’0” lengths in medium-light to extra-heavy powers; and 4 spinning in 6’10”-7’3” lengths in medium-light to medium-heavy powers. Components include down-locking feel-through skeletal reel seats for maximum sensitivity.  All rods include premium split cork grips and black EVA foam butt caps with accent rings.  Every Tactical Bass series rod is designed and manufactured to deliver uncompromising performance and proven durability, then we add the assurance of TFO’s no-fault lifetime warranty.

“TFO assembled the world’s most accomplished, crafty anglers to design a complete line of fishing rods priced to bring more anglers into the sport,” said Illich. “Because we believe that anyone who has the fishing bug as bad as we do deserves the highest performance equipment available to take their game to the next level.”

TFO Tactical Elite Bass Rods

While TFO’s Tactical Bass rods are designed to be the go-to weapon of weekend warriors, its Tactical Elite family is built for year-round tournament pros. “They’re for the times when success equals a paycheck,” adds Illich. “Tactical Elite Bass rods do not compromise on any aspect of the design, on any components, or on any engineering or manufacturing aspect. They’re made to guarantee performance, consistency and durability.”

The foundation of the Tactical Elite Bass series are technique-specific fast action blanks constructed with intermediate modulus carbon fiber.  The blanks are gun metal grey with Pac Bay Titanium SV guides.  The series includes 17 models: 13 casting in 6’10”-7’10” lengths in medium-light to extra-heavy power; and four spinning in 6’10”-7’3” lengths in medium-light to medium-heavy powers.  Componentry includes down-locking graphite feel-through skeletal reel seats for maximum sensitivity with black anodized hoods. All rods include a custom Winn® split grip. Every Tactical Elite Bass rod is designed and manufactured to deliver uncompromising performance and proven durability, then we add the assurance of TFO’s no-fault lifetime warranty.

At home in nature

The Dallas-based, American company is high on their new rod series. Their staff says they’ll stack the Tactical Bass and Tactical Elite Bass families against any rods on the planet. And, they’re hoping that by getting anglers out on the water with quality equipment, they’ll also benefit the outdoor world anglers play in.

“In our experience, when we get people connecting with fish, they connect with nature. And they join us in our mission of keeping our streams, rivers, lakes and oceans in good shape for the next generation. There’s a new breed of anglers out there. They’re smart. They’re passionate. They’re socially conscious. And they’re fishing Temple Fork.”
