Charleston, SC – Shimano North America Fishing debuts updates to three proven offshore saltwater jigs at ICAST 2026: the Current Sniper Jig Vertical, Ocea Speed Slasher, and Ocea Sardine Waver. Together, the updates expand Shimano’s offshore jig lineup with more versatility across casting, vertical, speed, and slow-pitch applications in a wide range of conditions.

The Current Sniper Jig Vertical (MSRP $13.99-$16.99) builds on the long-cast performance of the original Current Sniper with the addition of top-rigged assist hooks, allowing it to function both as a casting jig and a light vertical presentation without changing setups. The slim, aerodynamic profile remains designed for long-distance casts and precise presentations across multiple species.

The Ocea Speed Slasher (MSRP $21.99-$27.99) is built for deep water, and fast-moving conditions where getting into the strike zone quickly is critical. Its streamlined body minimizes drag, allowing it to cut through current and descend efficiently. Once in the zone, it is designed to be worked at high speed with tight, lifelike movement that imitates fleeing baitfish, sand eels, or squid, making it effective for pelagic species such as trophy tuna. It is available in 150g to 300g sizes in six color patterns, including glow options for low-light conditions.

The Ocea Sardine Waver (MSRP $22.99-$27.99) completes the trio with a keel-shaped rear design that produces an erratic falling action with backslides, wobble, and directional changes on the drop to mimic wounded baitfish. The updated lineup expands to 130g through 500g. Models from 130g to 250g come pre-rigged with premium assist hooks and cord, while 350g to 500g sizes are offered unrigged for custom rigging.

“The Current Sniper already had a strong following among offshore anglers, and adding top-rigged assist hooks gives it a whole new dimension for anglers who want one jig that can do double duty,” says Kade Gewanter, Product Marketing Manager at Shimano North America Fishing. “Combined with the Speed Slasher and the updated Sardine Waver, we are giving offshore anglers a more complete toolkit for whatever conditions they run into on the water.”

All three jigs will be available at authorized Shimano retailers.
