Shimano Kicks Off Weekend Surf Fishing Seminars

IRVINE, Calif. — Fall surf fishing action is about to take off, meaning it’s time for Shimano’s ‘On the Beach’ Surf Seminars with Shimano surf specialist Roy Leyva. The events kick-off this weekend – Saturday, Sept. 12 on the Cape Cod Canal, and then again on Sunday, Sept. 13 on Martha’s Vineyard.

At both events, Leyva will showcase Shimano’s ‘Long Cast Surf System’ including Aero Technium XS-C, Ultegra CI4+ and XS-C, and new Twin Power SW spinning reels, all featuring Shimano’s Hagane Design Concept. All the reels are matched with Shimano’s Tiralejo surf rods, four models offered in 9-foot-6 to 12-foot lengths. Along with the opportunity to demo all the Shimano surf tackle, Leyva is a noted surf caster and will offer advice on the right tackle for your fishing use, and provide casting technique tips.

Saturday’s surf event on Cape Cod Canal – Sept. 12 – is from 11am until 3:30pm. Anglers will see the ‘Surf Crew’ setup at the Bulkheads – near the Freezer Road parking lot on Ocean Drive.

The Sunday event on Martha’s Vineyard – Sept. 13 – takes place from 2pm until 4pm. The demo activities will be on Lobsterville Beach in Aquinnah off Lobsterville Road.
