Charleston, SC – Shimano North America Fishing introduces the all-new Poison Glorious, a freshwater bass rod series debuting at ICAST 2026 in both casting and spinning configurations. Designed for serious bass anglers who want the sensitivity and refinement of a JDM-inspired build with the comfort of a traditional cork handle, Poison Glorious sits between the Poison Adrena and Poison Ultima series as a versatile, technique-driven option.

Built for anglers who fish a wide range of presentations, the casting lineup includes seven models, including an all-around selection and a dedicated swimbait rod with a full cork handle for added leverage. The spinning lineup features eight models, including jerkbait-specific options and two dedicated for forward-facing sonar techniques and a full range of bait sizes.

“The Poison Glorious fills a gap that a lot of bass anglers have felt for a while,” says Kade Gewanter, Product Marketing Manager at Shimano North America Fishing. “Anglers who love the familiar feel of cork but want the sensitivity and precision of a true JDM build now have a rod built specifically for them, and with 15 models across casting and spinning, there is something for nearly every technique in the lineup.”

The series debuts FusionGrip Technology in the U.S. market, pairing a thin cork exterior with a carbon monocoque core to improve vibration transfer while maintaining a traditional feel. A CI4+ reel seat further enhances sensitivity by reducing weight and increasing rigidity at the reel connection point.

At the blank level, Spiral X Core provides a highly rigid three-layer carbon structure that improves torsional and compressional strength, while Hi-Power X reinforces the blank with diagonal carbon wraps to reduce twist and increase responsiveness without added weight. Select spinning models also feature Taftec Infinity solid-tip construction for heightened sensitivity in finesse and sonar-based applications. Stripper guides use Shimano X-Guide technology for reduced weight and improved tangle resistance, with Fuji Ti SiC guides rounding out the rest of the rod system for smooth, durable line management.
