MotorGuide Debuts Xi5 Wireless Trolling Motor at ICAST

Lowell, Mich. – MotorGuide, a trusted leader with more than 50 years in engineering trolling motors and accessories, introduces the Xi5, an all-new wireless trolling motor at the International Convention of Allied Sportsfishing Trades (ICAST) in Las Vegas, July 9-12, 2013. The Xi5 is the first in a series of reliable trolling motors featuring sought after angler-focused characteristics including quiet operation, rugged composite shaft construction, precise control and easy to stow and deploy features.

“The Xi5 is engineered for anglers especially those who fish the multi-species waters of the Midwest and Gulf Coast,” said Ben Curtis, category director for MotorGuide. “The Xi5 is a result of listening to anglers who told us they need the freedom to fish from anywhere in the boat while being able to precisely steer and control their boat to stay on fish,” Curtis said.

The Xi5 features a wireless pedal with intuitive heel-toe operation that’s quiet, precise and 50 percent faster than other trolling motors. The Xi5 is built tough with a new composite shaft that will bend, but won’t break when encountering obstacles like rocks and stumps. MotorGuide is so confident in the ruggedness of this new shaft that it’s backed with a lifetime warranty.

The new Xi5 is available in freshwater and saltwater models and with the optional Pinpoint GPS upgrade, delivers GPS accurate performance through a compact, easy to use hand-held remote. Anglers will be able to purchase Xi5 this fall from leading retailers and can select from three thrust ranges and shaft lengths.
