SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Lew’s announces that sales group Wellman Sports Marketing and sales representative Butch Williams have received the company’s top sales awards for the 2012 – 2013 tackle year.
Wellman Sports Marketing was named Lew’s sales group of the year for the second year in a row. The Plymouth, Minn.-based firm is responsible for Lew’s products sales in Connecticut, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont and Wisconsin.
Lew’s executives join Wellman Sports Marketing associates in recognition of Wellman being named the Lew’s sales group of the year for 2012 – 2013 during the Lew’s national sales meeting earlier this year. The award is the second in a row for the Wellman group.
The Wellman sales team consists of Rob Abers, John Burgess, Larry Carr, Jedd Culler, Reid Culler, Matt Edwards, Ross Evans, Kris Hagel, Kevin McKinney, David Moore, Joe Nieminski, Mark Palinsky, Andy Petersen, Chris Petersen, John Petersen, Tim Petersen, Bryan Plenzler and Paul Schwengel.

Butch Williams, Lew’s salesman of the year, is a member of Tim Hunter and Associates, a group headquartered in Conyers, Ga., and responsible for Lew’s sales in the southeastern United States. Williams is a 15-year veteran with Hunter and is responsible for accounts in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. He has more than 38 years of fishing industry experience.
“The rapid spread of Lew’s products throughout all distribution channels speaks volumes about the successes of everyone’s sales efforts this past year,” said Lew’s Vice President Richard LaBauve in making the announcements.
“The Wellman group continues to excel in an area outside the geography of where Lew’s began in the south and has such a rich history of brand loyalty, so their growth is an especially noteworthy achievement.
“As for Butch’s accomplishments, he is the epitome of a Lew’s sales person … someone who understands the industry, knows our product lines from top to bottom and puts customer service first. Congratulations to the Wellman team and Butch for these top sales distinctions.”
