Alexandria, VA – The American Sportfishing Association (ASA) is partnering with Southwick Associates, an outdoor sports research firm, to support Keep America Fishing’s® ongoing efforts to advocate for the rights of recreational anglers and to influence legislation for the benefit of fisheries management and conservation.
Through the end of this year, Southwick Associates will contribute 15 percent of the proceeds from research projects contracted by ASA’s members to Keep America Fishing.
“Keep America Fishing’s success in fighting for fishing’s future is helping to keep our industry growing,” said Southwick Associates President Rob Southwick. “Their mission aligns with our own work of providing market insights to individual sportfishing companies to help them boost their bottom line. We’re proud to be able to support this important industry program through this partnership.”
Keep America Fishing was started by ASA to provide the country’s 46 million anglers with the opportunity to engage in the legislative process when it comes to recreational fishing issues. By advocating for clean waters, abundant fisheries and access to both, the program aims to grow angling opportunities today and for future generations.
“We are thankful for Southwick Associates’ generous support,” said Keep America Fishing Director Liz Ogilvie. “They have been a valuable resource to our industry for more than 25 years and their understanding of industry trends, customer segments and top information sources has helped Keep America Fishing reach new audiences and understand where advocacy stands in the minds of anglers. As we look to the future, our developing partnership will allow us to make even more strides in connecting with passionate, action-oriented anglers.”
“Even if a company is not sure if or how market research can assist them, we’re happy to discuss options and possible solutions at no cost,” said Southwick.
