Johnson® Shutter™ Spoon

At first glance the new Shutter™ Spoon from Johnson™ looks just about like any other spoon. But a closer look reveals an unusual bend, about 2/3 down from the eye. This non-conformity gives the bait an erratic personality that will drive fish wild. The darting and weaving and flitting retrieve is different with each retrieve giving every fish a new look every cast.

The spoon is also wider than others prompting a slightly larger profile for the fish and a wider wobble when fished. There may not be a wrong way to fish the Shutter Spoon. Many anglers will simply cast and retrieve, changing up the speed and depth to match conditions. The spoon can also be retrieved with a jerking rod tip to make the bait really hop. Vertical jigging is always popular. A combination retrieve is to cast and let the spoon sink, then lift the rod tip and let the spoon sink again. The sinking action will be a fluttering motion.
