Four manufacturers are celebrating back-to-back New Product Showcase wins at Big Rock Sports’ East and West shows. Shimano (Freshwater Reel), Lew’s (Fishing Rod), Daiwa (Fishing Line) and Humminbird (Marine) have done what every entrant in the showcase dreams of doing. They won both ends of the Big Rock shows.
For many, a win at Big Rock is the equal of or even better than winning at ICAST, where most of the voters are outdoors media. At the Big Rock shows, the voters are retailers and their votes usually translate into orders and dollars. After all, retailers like what they can sell, and a vote by a retailer at one of the Big Rock shows is a vote of confidence that the product will be popular in the marketplace.
Big Rock dealers showed support for Shimano’s Sahara Spinning reel at both shows, as well as the Lew’s Mach Speed Stick, Daiwa’s J-Braid 4 Carrier braided line and the Humminbird Helix 10 CHIRP MEGA SI GPS.
A Penn reel won Saltwater Reel honors at both shows, but it was a different reel at each. And Penn and Humminbird split the overall Best of Show titles, with Humminbird winning in the West and Penn taking it in the East.
Panther Martin dazzled the western dealers, winning both the Freshwater and Saltwater Lure categories with its new Bearded Banshee and Sonic Sizzle Tail, respectively.
