OLATHE, Kan.— Fishing Hot Spots Pro just brought hundreds of thousands of fish attractors, brush piles, road beds and submerged structures to Garmin LakeVü Ultra HD units in a move that brings the collective knowledge of the Fishing Hot Spots community to the fingertips of Garmin customers.
The partnership between Fishing Hot Spots and Garmin made its public debut at the 2016 GEICO Bassmaster Classic Expo in Tulsa, where bass fishing’s most avid fans were treated to an up-close look at the integration between the two well-respected mapping companies—one which updates LakeVü maps with not only the locations, but the local names of features that anglers are sure to hear around the tackle shop (think goat island, two-stump hump, one tree hill, etc.).
“We’re excited to be working with Fishing Hot Spots,” says Garmin Media Relations Manager Carly Hysell. “They are a well-known and trusted name in freshwater fishing. In addition to the hundreds of thousands of known fish holding features they add, they’re also bringing tips and techniques that have been extensively researched and validated by the Fishing Hot Spots community.”
Fishing Hot Spots Pro will be available in March by download via Garmin’s website, or in April as a $49.99 Fishing Hot Spots Pro card for preloaded LakeVü units.
The update is compatible with the following units:
- echoMAP and echoMAP CHIRP chartplotter/sonar combos
- GPSMAP 5×7, 7×1, 8×0 and 10×0 chartplotters
- GPSMAP 7400 and 7600 chartplotters
