CAPT. ERIC “POPPY” HEIDEN WINS EAGLE CLAW’S FIRST EVER PRO STAFF MEMBER OF THE YEAR AWARD

Congratulations goes out from all of us at Wright & McGill Co./Eagle Claw to Capt. Eric Heiden. “Poppy” was awarded the first ever Pro Staff Member of the Year for his significant contributions to all areas of fishing for the last 35+ years. He has been a member of the Eagle Claw Pro Staff team for 30+ years and introduced more than 3,000 kids to fishing in those 3 decades, founded the Bluewater Fishing Club, invented many fishing products that are still being used to this day. He has guided more than 2,000 clients over the years. His main focus is in-shore fishing and teaching kids, he’s been know to travel way out for big billfish, dorado and wahoo. He is still the Capt. of Heidenseek Charters out of Georgetown Landing in Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Currently a retired dentist, he can be found up and down the coast of North and South Carolina giving seminars, fishing tournaments and teaching anglers many secrets from all of his years of success on and off the water. Capt. Eric has worked with Senators and Congressman to develop fishing laws and secure grants to patrol off shore waters that are still in place today.

As an award winning photographer and frequent “guide to Costa Rica,” Poppy has used all 77 years of his life to catch fish, teach people how to fish and enjoying his favorite hobby.
