RACINE, Wis., — Johnson Outdoors Fishing brands – Cannon®, Humminbird® and Minn Kota® –  have partnered with the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) of Florida and its State-wide Tournament and Anglers Rodeo (STAR).

Cannon, Humminbird and Minn Kota are dedicated to helping anglers fish more efficiently and effectively, maximizing time spent on the water, whether in a tournament or with family. The partnership with CCA STAR supports the family-friendly 101-day competition designed to promote conservation, data collection and education.

“The opportunity to support CCA STAR and its family-friendly format, combined with conservation components, is exciting for all of us at Humminbird, Minn Kota and Cannon,” said Joe Brown, senior director brand management for Johnson Outdoors Marine Electronics. “Conservation education is an important component of ensuring our natural resources are available for generations to come and we’re proud to support the CCA’s efforts.”

Each of the three Johnson Outdoors Fishing brands are recognized in title form within the CCA STARcompetition. Humminbird titles the Tarpon division, while Cannon titles the Kingfish division. Also new for 2019, Minn Kota is now recognized as the official trolling motor of STAR Florida.

The STAR Florida tournament kicks off Memorial Day weekend and closes Labor Day, encouraging anglers of all ages to get on the water during prime summer months. Most division winners, including the Cannon Kingfish and Humminbird Tarpon, are determined by a random drawing, not the biggest fish, a format that encourages participants of all ages to protect and conserve Florida’s fisheries for future generations.

Current CCA members and those looking to join CCA and sign up for the STAR competition can do so here, www.ccaflstar.com.
