Ardent Files Suit Against Maurice Sporting Goods

St. Louis, MO. — Ardent Tackle LLC of Missouri, USA filed suit in the Circuit Court of St. Louis County State of Missouri on April 4, 2017 against Maurice Sporting Goods, Inc. of Northbrook, Illinois for Breach of Contract relating to Maurice’s failure to pay Ardent for the sale and delivery of goods. Additionally, Maurice has been sued for three other counts including Fraudulent Misrepresentation, Unjust Enrichment, and Conversion. Maurice was served with the suit on April 11, 2017, Ardent officials said.

“It is unfortunate that we have had to file suit against Maurice Sporting Goods but after multiple demands for payment followed by the suspension of shipments not resulting in payment by Maurice we terminated all business with Maurice and filed suit” said Michael J. Brooks C.E.O. of Ardent Tackle LLC. “Customers formerly serviced by Maurice will now be serviced by competitive distributors or direct by Ardent.”

Ardent says that, contrary to a press release issued by Maurice on April 12, 2017 communicating a purported expansion of credit facility no payment has been received by Ardent.

Ardent Tackle LLC of Missouri is a manufacturer and marketer of Ardent freshwater fishing tackle and reel care products and a distributor of Blue Marlin saltwater fishing tackle and Gliss and Strong Braid fishing line.
